Bidding Blues

We were practising 1NT in Partnership bidding (sayc, Caitlin's way).

Hand 1:

Any way to bid this better and/or reach 7NT?

Hand 2:

Yet another can of worms... Bidding looks OK but the contract will fail. What to do?

Hand 1: Don't know. It's the 5th club that does it. I can post on the BBF forums and see if I can get some feedback for you, if you like?

Hand 2: That's life.

Thanks :) There should be some way(s) to do it, though; maybe we (p and I) just don't have the right tools. You can post it, thank you! :)

Actually I have a question before I post on the forums:

What are your agreements if N opens 1C?

Is 2C/3C forcing? Is 2N limit or forcing?

With this particular partner we were practising SAYC (Caitlin's version, "Standard Bidding with SAYC"), no inverted minors yet so 2C wouldn't be forcing in this case; 2NT: 13-15, balanced, no 4card major (semi-forcing).
With the partner I play 2/1, 2C would be forcing.

Oh haha, I looked at hand 2 again, you need Qxx or Qx onside, or 9x offside with Qxxx onside, so it has chances :)
